From 24 till 25 of May 2013, the conference “From the concept to the word – modern languages in 21st century didactics and science” was held at Poznan University of Technology. It was the main part of 60th Anniversary of the foundation of Centre of Languages and Communication at PUT.
The main theme of the lectures and seminars was Languages For Specific Purposes (LSP) taught at technical universities. Lectures and seminars discussed advances in the teaching ESP, paying attention to existing and new challenges that researchers face in the future. The key speaker of this event was Professor Katarzyna Dziubalska-Kołaczyk, who specializes in English and contrastive phonetics and phonology, first and second language acquisition, language theory and typology. She is the creator of Poznan Natural Phonology School.
