On May 16th Poznan University of Technology days started with two events. At 1 p.m. there was a ceremonial opening of ,,Architecture Malbork 2012” exhibition by Students of the Architecture Faculty and a few hours later at 6 p.m. an opening of Areta Fedak exhibition „Cerkwie i krzyże. Kraina Łemków, Bojków i Hucułów” (,,Orthodox churches and crosses. Land of Lemks, Boiks and Hutsuls”). The second event was organized in cooperation with “Polska-Ukraina” Association as a part of “Ukrainian Spring” festival. Both of the exhibitions are available in main hall of The Lecture and Congress Centre until the end of May.
Works of Areta Fedak are interesting because of their special theme – orthodox crosses on the border of Ukraine and Slovakia. Areta Fedak is a famous artist, member of Polish Artists Union, who spent a lot of time on traveling and studying this specific subject. In addition, the specific technique that she uses – linocut – adds appropriate mysticism to her works. The exhibition will be shown in Belgium, Germany, Italy, Japan and other countries.
