700 persons had been invited to New Year reception given by Poznan Mayor. The first time in many years it took part not in the Castle which is closed for restoration.
Mayor gave the reception in Lecture and Congress Centre of The University of Technology. In his speech Mayor summarizes Poznan citizens’ successes in the last year. He also said about challenges facing the city in the nearest future. The main of them is keeping the integrity of Poznan International Fair which Minister of Treasury exposed for sale.
Mayor also hoped that the symbolic transfer of the EU Presidency to Poland will be conducted in Poznan. In the end of the event Mayor presented the Grand Gold Seal of Poznan to Chairman of Poznan International Fair Andrzej Byrt. The laureate have been awarded for his outstanding diplomatic and ministerial activities.
