From New Zealand to Szreniawa

Straight from the tour of New Zealand and Oceania, “Poligrodzianie” will arrive for the 50th anniversary of the Museum of Agriculture in Szreniawa on 24 August, 2014.

The Band will present a similar concert program as they did during their “Oceania Artistic Tour” that took place in July 2014 in New Zealand and Tahiti. The show, set in the circle of dances and national songs (cracovienne, oberek, Polish highland dance, songs by S. Moniuszko, T. Szeligowski and T. Nowowiejski), will grace the jubilee of the institution that perfectly maintains the traditions of Polish agricultural museum and nurses the heritage of Polish countryside in terms of material and spiritual culture.
The jubilee event of the cycle PAST – FUTURE – 50 attractions for the 50th anniversary of the Museum will be held on Sunday, 24 August. The concert of “Poligrodzian” will begin at 16:30.
The event is organized within the framework of the 50th Jubilee anniversary of the Museum under the honorary patronage of the Minister of Culture and National Heritage; Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development and the Marshal of the Wielkopolska Province.
The National Museum of Agriculture and Food Industry in Szreniawa is the only agricultural museum of this magnitude in Poland and one of the few and the largest in Europe. In its activities, it alludes to the nearly 130-year tradition of Polish agricultura l museums. In the 50 years of its activities, the Museum has gathered more than 20,000 objects, documenting the achievements of several generations of the Polish rural population in terms of culture and spiritual material.
